Available through our audit training partner, the Certified Energy Investigator is someone who can apply the energy systems engineering learned through Energy Onion in residential and commercial energy auditing situations.  While you may wish to start with either an engineering or auditing focus, the smart student will consider neither engineering nor auditing as a prerequisite for the other but rather as complementary skills.

While businesses are aware that energy costs are growing, most are unable to analyze, identify and modify their energy use. This is not because they are bad companies or unskilled but rather focusing on energy use may detract them from their primary business objective.

In addition, unlike large companies, most small businesses don’t have the manpower or cash to take a handful of employees off their sales/support jobs to learn the engineering and auditing skills necessary to succeed in energy efficiency.
